Ozark Aerospace, Inc. has just released firmware version 1.61 for both the ARTS and ARTS2 flight computers.
For ARTS2 users, this update will fix a recently discovered bug which would prevent the ARTS2, when used in conjunction with the telemetry subsystem switched into "ARTS" mode, from correctly reporting the status of the GPS. Users would see RadioRx never reporting that the GPS had Comm, or that the GPS would have a correct position fix, even though it did. This update corrects the bug.
For original ARTS users, this firmware update brings the Original ARTS all of the software capabilities of the ARTS2. These include compatibility with the newer 19200bps telemetry modules, and the ability to trigger a pyro charge when a specified altitude is reached during ascent. Note that ARTS users will need to upgrade DataAnalyzer to version 1.6 in order to use the new firmware.
Applicable to both ARTS and ARTS2 users upgrading, firmware version 1.61 also includes improvements in the flight stage tracking functionality. This will allow the unit to better follow the progress of the flight during subnominal flights.
